Goodyear is getting a new spot for your morning coffee (or anytime coffee😅)! Black Rock Coffee Bar is celebrating the grand opening of its new location at 14880 W. McDowell Rd. on Sunday, September 27.

More Homes Coming to Estrella
D.R. Horton has purchased the final 232 home sites at Estrella’s Lucero village, covering about 90 acres. The builder plans to construct one- and two-story homes ranging from 1,300 to 2,400 square feet, with model homes expected to open in fall 2027. It’s another sign of the continued growth happening throughout Estrella and Goodyear. Read the full story at KTAR
Estrella Parkway Expansion
Big changes are coming to Estrella Parkway! Goodyear City Council approved a cost-recovery plan for the $114.4 million widening project, which will expand the road from two lanes to six between MC 85 and just south of Vineyard Avenue. The project will also include bridge improvements, new traffic signals, drainage, landscaping and separated bike lanes. Construction is expected to begin by the end of the year and take about two years. Read the full story at West Valley View
Goodyear Parks & Rec Takes Home Two State Awards
Goodyear Parks and Recreation received two Best of the Best Awards from the Arizona Parks and Recreation Association. The Goodyear Sharks Swim Team was recognized for its outstanding aquatics program, while Moving Forward received an award for its adaptive recreation program, which helps special education students gain real-world workplace experience. It runs September 25–November 2 at DH Farms in west Phoenix, so it’s a fun option just outside Goodyear.
Desert Fall Festival - Surprise

Fall gets a desert twist at this 13-acre festival in Surprise, running September 25–November 1. There’s a little bit of everything here, from a glowing pumpkin maze and 90-foot fun slide to ziplines, apple cannons, a real excavator experience, live music and line dancing. This is a fun one to add to your fall bucket list if you’re up for a quick drive from Goodyear! Tickets can sell out, so be sure to grab yours ahead of time.
Rock the BBQ — October 3
Head to Goodyear Civic Square for an evening of live music, BBQ vendors, yard games, artisan vendors and more.
Ritmos y Raíces: Rhythm & Roots — October 10
A fun celebration of Hispanic culture at Goodyear Ballpark with live performances, Lucha Libre wrestling, a Hispanic-owned mercado and more.
